This means that I constantly and consistently update the bibliography and content studied in class. Whenever possible, I invite established and emerging scholars to share their most recent work with my students so that they have the opportunity to talk with the scholars whose work they are studying.<\/p>\n<p>I try to balance task based assignments with experience and observational based assignments.<\/p>\n<p>A typical class may include discussion boards or discussion videos, a creative assignment such as a \u00b4copy\u00b4 of an old text, a photographic assignment, a video or something else, in addition to the tradition research project.<\/p>\n<p>I try to incorporate a community engagement component to as many classes as possible. This affords students \u00b4hands on\u00b4 and \u00b4real life\u00b4 experience in a controlled environment with instructor support.
